Nexteq NexGeo™ is a powerful GIS software solution with rapid and efficient field data collection and maintenance tools and seamless field-office communication for effective team management and timely decision making. The NexGeo platform consists of a mobile client optimized for rich data collection and an office client for data and project management and maintenance and useful real-time field client tracking. NexGeo gives you the ability to fully control your field projects on either Nexteq T-series handhelds or your existing Windows Mobile powered GPS/GIS devices.
Efficient field data collection
Using the NexGeo platform simplifies and optimizes the field data collection process. The NexGeo office client (NexGeo Office) has powerful functions, including a vector and raster map maker, custom project data dictionary editor, and comprehensive datum transformation, for preparing all necessary project information, structure and metadata in an office environment. The NexGeo mobile client (NexGeo Mobile) makes the field workflow seamless with a graphical, map-centric user interface focused around the working area and providing key status information and easy access to all functions. NexGeo Mobile supports the use of onboard cameras and microphones for photo and voice tagging data features with additional relevant information. Hard to reach features can still be collected using NexGeo Mobile’s position offset functionality. With a well prepared data dictionary, feature collection in NexGeo Mobile can be completed with a few clicks. NexGeo is fully compatible with common GIS data formats and can import and export between them, preserving existing GIS data investments and infrastructure.
Straight forward data maintenance
Using NexGeo makes data maintenance a straight forward process as key features and attributes can be inputted either in the office or by the mobile client. NexGeo Mobile’s GNSS navigation tools can guide the field staff to each asset based on the NexGeo Office generated waypoint list. Once a waypoint is reached, NexGeo Mobile marks it as visited and guides the field staff to the next waypoint. After an existing feature is edited, NexGeo Mobile will also mark it as updated. Color-coded vector and raster background references provide additional contextual geographical information to aid the field staff.
NexGeo’s tracking function provides additional benefits for effective team management and timely decision making. Using NexGeo Mobile field staff can log into NexGeo Office’s Management Center to report their location. NexGeo Mobile can also communicate with NexGeo Office, through short messages and uploaded pictures, to report the status of the field work, and request help from the office. Managers can view all on-line team members, and effectively assign tasks to each member based on their reported status, and make informed decisions in time sensitive situations.
Enhanced positioning accuracy
NexGeo integrates seamlessly with Nexteq GNSS receivers to deliver exceptional accuracy level. NexGeo Office also provides post processing of data logged from Nexteq GNSS receivers to further improve positioning accuracy, and automatically updates the geo-information for features collected by NexGeo Mobile.
